Not a million years ago when skis were long and thin, most British skiers (and the few boarders that existed then) headed to Austria for their yearly fix. However, times change as did the equipment and as the French gradually began to interlink resorts creating huge playgrounds such as the 3 valleys and La Plagne many snowsports enthusiasts who would never have considered a holiday outside of the Tyrol slowly began to favour France....that said, the wheel has turned full circle and Austria is back in fashion. Price is a huge factor here with pretty much everything costing less...ski pass, ski school, ski hire, your lunch...the list goes on..so, if you left Austria in the seventies for "La France", perhaps it is time to return. The welcome will be as big and genuine as it always was, the standard of service and hospitality exceptional, the skiing world class...oh...and the après...that's pretty good too!!
