Alpine charm, iconic mountain peaks and hoteliers with a well deserved reputation for being the finest in the world. Swiss resorts tend to be charming and traditional, many are car-free and more than a few boast huge top to bottom vertical. With an efficient rail network, travelling to most resorts from Geneva or Zurich is a hassle free experience. As well as the world renowned resorts of Zermatt, Verbier and St Moritz, there are literally hundreds of smaller resorts here all with something different to offer. Two ski days I remember the most are skiing powder in Bruson during a season in Verbier and a very similar day in the tiny resort of Les Marecottes...an easy day trip from Chamonix...amazing conditions and the feeling that we had paid for exclusive use of the mountain!
