About Alpe d'Huez
Situated in a sunny bowl above the town of Bourg D’Oisans at an altitude of 1860m, Alpe D’Huez is now the 5th biggest ski area in France with just under 250km of piste and incorporating the resorts of Auris, Villard Reculas, Oz en Oisans and Vaujany. Renowned for being a superb mixed ability resort, the runs here drop down to 1100m and climb to a lofty 3300m with the glacier ensuring a long season. The resort has grown in a haphazard fashion with a number of distinct areas. Stay at the top of the town for quick access to the slopes or in the Bergers area with ski-in, ski-out accommodation. Also in its favour is a huge snowpark and a well deserved reputation for being a party town.
